Responsibilities:
As a Unit Manager your responsibilities include:
- Assists the D.O.N with planning, directing, and supervising the activities of the nursing staff.
- Ensures the Nursing Department is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop, implement and update department policy and procedures when necessary or as directed.
- Assists with staffing to ensure Resident needs and regulatory requirements are met at all times.
- Participates in Federal, State and Local agency annual surveys.
- Reviews any deficiencies noted by government agencies during inspections and assists with the implementation of changes needed to correct any deficiencies found.
- Completes annual performance reviews of all subordinate staff. Provides guidance and education to staff in regards to their performance.
- Maintain accuracy of patient records
- Report and investigate incidents thoroughly and timely
- Maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical needs of each patient
- Assist physicians during rounds
- Provide guidance and training for aides
- Demonstrates proficient nursing skills
Qualifications:
- Current State License as a Registered Nurse
- High school graduate/GED,
- Long-term care experience, good communication skills
