Summary
As a Urethane Additives R&D Technician, you'll play a hands-on role in developing and testing innovative polyurethane materials. You'll prepare chemical samples and polyurethane foams following established procedures, conduct performance testing, and help ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. You'll also maintain and calibrate lab equipment, record and analyze data, and support ongoing research projects. While much of your work will follow established guidelines, you'll have opportunities to learn new techniques and take on more complex assignments as you grow in the role.

Please note that this role requires onsite presence five days per week, Monday through Friday

Starting wage is 27.79/hr

Responsibilities Include
Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Conducts chemical analyses, chemical syntheses, preparation of polyurethane foams, and product performance testing
• Performs, with guidance, routine testing by chemical, instrumental and physical testing procedures.
• Records and maintains accurate records of results in conjunction with protocols and procedures.
• Completes as necessary customary documentation and enters test data into records or systems as required.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration on lab equipment to assure compliance with normal lab operations testing.
• Normally receives minimal instruction on routine work and general instructions on new assignments.
• Contributes to the department and site Environmental Health and Safety goals.
• Assists with project coordination and special assignments as necessary to assure timely completion of testing in accordance with existing timelines.
• Other duties as assigned

Key Metrics Role Is Accountable For

• Safe operations, ISO compliance, equipment maintenance/upgrading.
• Support of NPI sales, % Vitality, %SGM for NPI
• Support sales of existing products in the marketplace
• Support manufacturing and quality departments
• Ability / interest to independently run / maintain pilot scale equipment

Key Relationships

• Application development interactions with sales, marketing, process development and manufacturing.
• External support for new applications and customer sales support.

Qualifications
The following are
required
for the role

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry
• Strong personal and professional commitment to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), including the ability to wear required protective equipment
• Comfortable working with laboratory equipment and machinery
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general PC functions
• Familiar with basic statistical analysis
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently when needed
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Solid math and reading comprehension skills
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and collaborating effectively with team members
• Demonstrated customer service mindset and professional attitude
• Physically able to lift and carry containers up to 40 lbs (such as full 5-gallon cans)
• Willingness to occasionally work extended hours when needed

The Following Are Preferred For The Role

• Polyurethane chemistry experience
• Application/product development experience

Base Pay Range: $28 - $41

The base salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography.
