Mixing Operator-3rd Shift

Summary

To safely and efficiently perform hot mixing and extrusion utilizing mechanical equipment to mix and mill high consistency silicone rubber to desired customer specifications.

Responsibilities Include

• **This 3rd Shift position will start at $23.74 $2.00 shift premium pay**
• Ensure that all safety equipment is readily available and that all guards are in place.
• Read batch cards (paper and electronic) for directions, such as proper amounts, temperature controls, weights and sequences of raw materials, and any other additional instructions.
• Safely operate multiple types of mixers, mills, extruders and other related equipment when required.
• Maintain work area in clean and orderly manner, drive Lean 5S initiative throughout the facility with emphasis on shift transition.
• Maintain written production records of batches mixed.
• Learn and understand basic customer requirements and the equipment and materials used in extrusion, mixing, milling, packaging, and finishing.
• Receive and relay vital communications with co-workers concerning daily production strategies.
• As directed, carry out any other tasks of equal or less difficulty.
• To keep written (and/or electronic) production records on every batch mixed.
• To receive and relay vital verbal communications with co-workers concerning daily production strategies.
• To become knowledgeable of basic customer requirements and the equipment and materials used in mixing and milling.
• Must be qualified by a physician to wear a respirator and maintain appropriate respirator hygiene daily.
  
  

Qualifications

The following are required for the role

• Perform arithmetic operations quickly, accurately, and possess eye-hand motor coordination.
• Basic writing skills are required in the completion of daily production records.
• Basic verbal communication skills are required to transfer or interpret the explanation of problems and to receive and understand work assignments.
• Must be able to read and understand written instructions.
• Must be able to stand for a 8.5-hour shift.
• Must be able to read, understand, and speak English
• Must be able to use scanners and other electronic devices.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
