Position Title: Senior EHS Manager (m/f/d) Position Summary: Lead the EHS team to ensure compliance with permits, official requirements, laws and internal guidelines regarding occupational and plant safety and health and environmental protection at the site. Actively advise the site leader and the plant management on the effective implementation of all relevant laws, regulations, and permit requirements. Further development of the EHS management systems at the site and introduction of programs for continuous improvement of EHS performance, including safety culture and safe practices. The position also includes the role of the leading health and safety officer. Job Description: EHS-Objectives: Support the site management in establishing, implementing, and maintaining documented EHS Objectives at relevant functions and levels within the organization (OGSM). Coordination and monitoring of all activities regarding occupational and process safety, health, and environmental protection. Ensuring effective use fire prevention measures including flammable liquid handling, hot work, etc. Legal Compliance: Sustained and consistent efforts to implement legal requirements, Chempark guidelines and corporate standards regarding occupational and process safety, health and environmental protection and hazard prevention planning. Monitoring compliance with and proper documentation of permits and official requirements. Actively advising the site leader and the plant management on the effective implementation of all relevant laws, regulations, and permit conditions. Permits: Ensuring the timely preparation and submission of all necessary permit applications and amendments. Ensuring efficient tracking and communication of changes in EHS legislation. Follow-up of EHS duty delegations from relevant laws and regulations in consultation with the plant management. Performing the tasks and duties of the Major Accidents Officer and ensuring the duty to inform the authorities. Primary contact for authorities and Chempark Owner and Partner for all questions regarding occupational and plant and process safety as well as health and environmental protection. Maintain and further develop a zero-tolerance culture regarding occupational safety and environmental protection. Improve the EHS management systems to develop the site into an incident-free site. Conduct Health and Safety Committee (Arbeitsschutzausschuss) meetings in accordance with legal requirements. Coordinate and provide resources to moderate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) meetings according to schedule and legal requirements. Follow-up of the processing of identified deficiencies. Development of the company health management. Organization of preventive medical checkups. Maintaining a stringent change management process (MOC). Dashboard: Establish, implement, and maintain a procedure to monitor EHS performance on a regular basis including proactive and reactive measures. Audit: Coordination of EHS audits and sustained and consistent efforts to remedy identified deficiencies. Deficiencies: Initiating and following up on measures to remedy deficiencies in cooperation with the responsible site leader/plant management and, in the event of significant deficiencies, inadequate remedy of deficiencies or failure to remedy deficiencies on time, involving the site leader, and/or plant management and/or Regional EHS Director. Management review: Prepare the review of the site EHS management system to ensure suitability, adequacy and effectiveness and assess opportunities for improvement. This includes results of internal audits an evaluation of compliance with applicable legal requirements and other requirements to which the organization subscribes, the EHS performance of the site, the extent to which the objective have been met, status of incident investigation, changing circumstances including developments in legal and other requirements related to EHS. Support the site to maintain a procedure to investigate and analyze incidents to determine underlying EHS deficiencies, and identify opportunities for corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner. Ensure timely companywide EHS reporting and documentation in the online tool "Gensuite" in accordance with internal guidelines. Participation in the preparation of investment plans regarding occupational and process safety as well as health and environmental protection in close consultation with the technical management, the plant management, and the site leader. Leading, motivating, training, and further development of subordinates in consultation with the site leader, plant management, and HR. Tracking of all EHS-relevant mandatory training at the site. Experience in managing employees. Excellent communication skills, able to communicate on different levels in a diverse matrix environment. Change agent – drives change and transformation.
