Qualifications

Responsibilities
- This position involves overseeing NJHS activities, facilitating meetings and projects, and fostering a culture of excellence and service within the chapter
- Serve as the primary advisor and liaison for the Momence Junior High chapter of the National Junior Honor Society, working closely with NJHS officers, members, school administrators, and the National Junior organization
- Ensure compliance with NJHS guidelines, policies, and procedures, and uphold the integrity and reputation of the organization
- Coordinate the annual selection process for new NJHS members, including soliciting nominations, reviewing applications, and conducting selection meetings in accordance with established criteria
- Plan and execute the NJHS induction ceremony to welcome new members and recognize their achievements in academics, leadership, service, and character
- Provide leadership development opportunities for NJHS members, including workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on communication skills, teamwork, goal setting, and ethical leadership
- Mentor NJHS officers in their roles, assisting them in planning and organizing chapter activities and initiatives
Service Projects and Activities:
- Collaborate with NJHS officers and members to plan, coordinate, and implement service projects and activities that benefit the school, local community, and charitable organizations
- Encourage NJHS members to take an active role in service and volunteerism, fostering a spirit of compassion, empathy, and civic responsibility
- Acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of NJHS members through awards, scholarships, and recognition programs, both within the chapter and at the school level
- Nominate outstanding NJHS members for National Junior and regional recognition opportunities, such as scholarships, leadership conferences, and awards
- Maintain regular communication with NJHS members, parents, school staff, and community partners through meetings, emails, newsletters, and social media
- Promote the activities and accomplishments of the NJHS chapter to the school and community, highlighting the positive impact of service and leadership
Stipend ($1,051-1,261) based on experience per the MEA Teacher's Contract
