What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Form Carpenter position at Moltus Building Group?
We are seeking a Concrete Form Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and removing concrete forms for foundations, walls, columns, slabs, sidewalks, and other concrete structures. This role requires knowledge of carpentry techniques, blueprint reading, and safe construction practices to ensure concrete structures are built accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood or metal forms for concrete placement.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction specifications.
- Set and align forms to proper grade and elevation.
- Install bracing, anchors, and supports to maintain form stability.
- Place embedded items such as anchor bolts, inserts, and reinforcing materials.
- Strip and clean forms after concrete has cured.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform concrete pouring, finishing, and curing while maintaining quality and project standards.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures.
- Collaborate with foremen, laborers, and other trades on job sites.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 years of experience in concrete forming or commercial carpentry preferred.
- Ability to read construction plans and layout measurements accurately.
- Knowledge of concrete forming systems and materials.
- Experience using carpentry tools and construction equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50–75 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments.
- Ability to perform physically demanding labor for extended periods.
Work Environment
- Commercial and residential construction sites.
- Exposure to noise, dust, weather, and heavy equipment.
- May require overtime, weekends, or travel depending on project schedules.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Symons, EFCO, Peri, or other form systems.
- Knowledge of reinforcing steel placement.
- Forklift, aerial lift, or OSHA certifications are a plus.
