Shift Lead - Helen's Bakery

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Food Shift Lead to oversee the daily operations of our food service department during their assigned shift. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment. The Food Shift Lead will ensure that all food is prepared, served, and handled according to company standards, while maintaining a positive, efficient, and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and train food service staff during shifts, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
• Oversee food preparation, quality, and presentation, ensuring adherence to company recipes and standards.
• Monitor food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and organizing supplies.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure that all stations are fully stocked and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.
• Support managers with operational tasks, including performance tracking, reporting, and conducting team meetings.
• Maintain a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging teamwork and collaboration among staff members.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; food service experience preferred.
• Proven leadership experience in food service or hospitality settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Basic math and cash handling skills.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent) is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in hot, noisy, and fast-paced environments.
