Assistant Store Managers are vital to helping the Store Manager drive business success for Big10 Mart. Successful assistant store managers have been successful retail associates, either as cashiers or shift leads. They help the Store Manager run a successful store location and are groomed to one day become a Store Manager in their own right.
We have an opening for an assistant manager who wants to grow into a manager-in-training. This is at our store on Rhomberg Avenue in Dubuque, IA. This is a great opportunity to build your career in retail. Big 10 Mart is growing and we like to promote from within. Our most successful assistant store managers are looked at as potential Store Managers, managing a store location of their own within our company.
Position summary:
Assists the store manager with supervising sales workers in a Big 10 Mart Convenience Store. Does not have authority to hire, discipline, or terminate employees. You will be learning all the duties of the store, including cashiering, stocking, cleaning, ordering, and doing paperwork. You will be the manager's right hand in running the store.
Experience and Education:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree (or other 2- year degree) or higher preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Retail/C-Store Industry highly desired, 6 months of leadership experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Stand for long periods of time
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Crouch, crawl, squat, climb as required
