What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Dog Care Specialist - Daycare & Boarding position at Molly's Dog Care - Baltimore Peninsula?
Are you passionate about dogs and interested in a long-term career in animal care or dog training?
We’re redefining dog daycare—and we want team members who are ready to raise the bar with us. We’re looking for dedicated, hardworking, motivated individuals to join our team as Senior Dog Daycare Attendants — with a clear pathway to grow into specialized roles in personalized daycare and eventually dog training (there is a path to become a groomer, or daycare manager as well).
At least two years of experience in daycare/dog handling/dog training is required. The Senior Dog Care specialist will be expected to handle our bigger, more energetic, and sometimes more challenging dogs immediately after onboarding/training. Regardless of experience level, we are looking for people who are passionate about putting dogs first, want to learn and develop in the field and help us grow our small business.
About the Role
As a Dog Daycare Attendant, you'll be critical in our mission to keep our dogs safe and fulfilled — supervising group play, cleaning and sanitizing the facility, monitoring dog behavior, and ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching environment. You’ll work hands-on with dogs of all sizes and breeds every day while gaining foundational experience and skills.
What We’re Looking For
- You love dogs and want to work with them — not just play with them (although there is plenty of play involved!)
- You’re reliable, observant, and confident around all dog sizes and temperaments.
- You're eager to learn about behavior, enrichment, and training--ask a lot of questions!
- You’re proactive and take initiative, not waiting to be asked to do things.
- You thrive in active, physical roles and aren’t afraid of cleaning.
- You’re open to feedback and want to grow professionally
If interested, we will require an in-person interview in addition to a followed by an observation interview. You will shadow a worker here to allow us to determine your comfort level around the dogs.
Please note that all employees who are hired will go through a 30 day probationary period where they will
work a maximum of 3 shifts per week at $17/hr. After 30 days, we will review your progress to determine full-time/part time status and permanent pay range. Full time is considered 35 hours, however we frequently have opportunities to work additional shifts and even earn overtime (over 40 hours).
Opportunities for growth:
This is an entry-level role earning $17-$19 per hour, depending on your experience level. We believe in promoting from within and creating long-term careers in the pet care industry. As our team grows, so do the opportunities to advance into specialized and leadership roles.
