SUMMARY:
The Molly Pitcher Inn has an exciting Pool Lifeguard opportunity at our beautiful Navesink River-front property in Red Bank, NJ. At our boutique hotel, our renowned food and beverage program is an integral piece of the Hotel experience, and we are looking for talented individuals to join our team. Our customers are what we are about. One of the keys to a positive guest experience is positive interaction with our team members. It is essential that the Lifeguard remains professional at all times, and that guests and colleagues are treated with courtesy and respect, under all circumstances. Every hotel employee is a guest relations ambassador, every working minute of every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor Pool Area: Continuously monitor the pool area to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all swimmers.
- Rescue Operations: Respond promptly and efficiently to emergencies or accidents, performing first aid and CPR as needed.
- Enforce Safety Rules: Educate pool guests on safety rules and enforce proper pool behavior, ensuring a safe environment for everyone.
- Record Keeping: Assist with required pool documentation, including incident reports, safety inspections, and operational logs as assigned.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all safety equipment (rescue tubes, life jackets, etc.) is properly maintained and readily available for use.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining continuous attention to pool safety and swimmer supervision.
- Communication: Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the Maintenance Manager and collaborate with team members to resolve issues.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside other lifeguards, pool and maintenance staff to create a positive experience for all guests.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certifications:
Lifeguard Certification
First Aid Certification
CPR Certification
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to swim and maintain physical fitness standards, as well as stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with pool safety procedures, water quality standards, and emergency protocols.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively engage with guests and team members.
- Customer-Oriented: Friendly, professional demeanor with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Availability: Flexible schedule, with availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other lifeguards, facility staff, and management to ensure the highest standards of safety and service.
While assigned to active surveillance duties, lifeguards may not engage in activities that distract from swimmer observation, including use of personal electronic devices, reading, or other non-work-related activities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in the heat, and sun for extended periods of time.
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach above shoulders, kneel, twist, & grip items while carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to reach, lift, bend and carry heavy objects up to 25 pounds.
