The Department of Sociology at Molloy University invites applications from candidates interested in teaching for the department during the 2025-2026 academic year. Courses that may need coverage in future semesters include SOC 1010 (Introduction to Sociology) and SOC 3000 (Research Methods). Other courses may become available as well. Candidates must have:
- A master’s degree or higher in Sociology or related discipline
- A history of at least two years of successful teaching experience at the college level or equivalent.

The adjunct faculty members are responsible for:
- Preparing and delivering face-to-face instruction to undergraduate students in cooperation with the department’s Chairperson and other faculty;
- Using a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning and encourage active learning in all students.
- Promptly assessing students’ coursework and appraising students of progress;
- Meeting with students before or after class if they need to attend to their course related questions.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to relate well to a diverse population of community learners.
Salary Information:
When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as discipline specific knowledge, skills, education and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring salary for this position is $1,175.00 per credit (Undergraduate Instructor) to $1,330.00 per credit (Graduate Assistant Professor). This hiring salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
