The Warehouse Supervisor leads warehouse operations in Sioux Falls, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate execution of receiving, storage, picking, and shipping activities. This nonexempt role actively supervises warehouse associates while performing hands on operational support as needed. The position partners closely with the Supply Chain Manager to meet service, productivity, inventory accuracy, and safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daily first shift warehouse operations, including receiving, put away, picking, packing, and shipping
- Lead, coach, and direct warehouse associates to meet productivity, quality, and safety standards
- Assign work and adjust labor throughout the shift to align with inbound and outbound volume
- Enforce safety policies, OSHA compliance, and proper use of material handling equipment
- Monitor inventory accuracy and support cycle counts and physical inventories
- Troubleshoot workflow, labor, and equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate documentation for productivity, attendance, incidents, and inventory adjustments
- Ensure housekeeping, organization, and 5S standards are consistently maintained
- Collaborate with transportation, customer service, and planning teams to support service commitments
- Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and performance feedback for warehouse associates
- Escalate employee relations, safety, and operational issues to the Supply Chain Manager
- Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 to 5 years of warehouse or distribution experience
- 1 to 3 years of supervisory or lead experience
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement exposure
- Forklift and material handling equipment certification
