Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing information and negotiate terms that benefit the project’s budget and timeline.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analyses to determine material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, ensuring all aspects of the project are accurately priced and aligned with client expectations.
- Monitor project costs throughout the process to support effective cost control measures and identify potential overruns early.
- Review contracts and scope of work documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and identify potential risks or discrepancies.
- Support project management teams by providing timely estimates for change orders, value engineering opportunities, and alternative solutions that optimize project outcomes.
Experience
- Proven experience in estimating with a strong understanding of management processes.
- Solid knowledge of site operations, contracts, pricing strategies, and cost control techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms.
- Strong analytical skills combined with excellent attention to detail to produce precise estimates under tight deadlines.
