Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Purchasing Manager based in Orlando, FL. The Purchasing Manager will oversee the procurement of materials for production, negotiate with suppliers to secure cost-effective and quality sources, and manage inventory to meet company and customer demands. They will coordinate with vendors, evaluate supplier performance, implement cost-saving measures, and ensure compliance with procurement policies. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate purchase records, mitigating risks in the supply chain, and fostering strong vendor relationships to support operational efficiency and innovation.
• Source raw materials, semi-finished products, and drawing-based custom components across Mokawa’s metals portfolio.
• Manage supplier pricing, lead times, purchase orders, acknowledgements, and on-time delivery performance.
• Coordinate import shipments, freight activity, customs-related documentation, and certification records.
• Maintain accurate vendor, item, and purchasing data in the ERP system.
• Develop alternate suppliers to improve cost, continuity, and responsiveness.
• Support technically demanding and compliance-sensitive customer requirements where applicable.
• 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience in manufacturing, metals, industrial distribution, or a comparable technical environment.
• Experience purchasing metal raw materials, semi-finished materials, machined parts, or custom manufactured components.
• Strong ERP proficiency plus working knowledge of import/export coordination and purchasing documentation.
• Comfort with technical specifications, material certifications, and supplier communication.
• Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Minimum of 2 years of college-level German and authorization to work in the United States.
• Experience with refractory, transition, or specialty metals.
• Familiarity with molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum, titanium, niobium, zirconium, nickel, and their alloys.
• Exposure to DFARS-related sourcing or industrial, electronics, or aerospace supply chains.
