Responsibilities look
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and automobiles, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals at each destination.
- Load and unload merchandise with proper lifting practices, including heavy lifting when necessary, to prevent injury and damage.
- Build strong customer relationships through professional communication, friendly service, and prompt problem resolution.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, invoices, and route reports.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Upsell or suggest additional products or services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving or automobile transportation preferred.
- Knowledge of route driving, traffic laws, and DOT regulations to ensure compliance during deliveries.
- Basic math skills for handling pricing calculations, measurements, and inventory counts.
- Proven ability in customer service and client communication to foster positive relationships.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during loading/unloading tasks.
- Experience in retail store environments or merchandising is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
