Job Summary
Coaches individual participants in the necessary skills for the sport. Plans and schedules and conducts a regular program of practices throughout the season. The number and length of practices are subject to the approval of the Principal. Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which sport is conducted at all times when students are present. Maintains accurate statistics, records and results of the season. Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times. Establishes and oversees penalties for breach of athletic and academic standards by individual students. Maintains competency in rules, rule interpretations, event/game procedures, coaching techniques and general information about all aspects of the sport. Ensures that eligibility criteria, (academic, athletic and behavioral) are implemented for all participants. Adheres to a sound program of injury prevention and follow up. Works closely with the Athletic Director. Recommends the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms. Maintains all necessary forms for athletics. Accounts for all equipment. Maintains consistent and positive communication with the public, athletes, parents, media, staff and administration. Coordinates all fund-raising activities through the Athletic Director.
Requirements / Qualifications
Must have California Class C Driver’s License, current CPR and First Aide Certifications, fingerprint requirement, and current Coaches Certification
