Mohs Histotechnician (Part-time) About The Company:

The Role:
As a Mohs Histotechnician, you will work closely with our seasoned professionals, gaining hands-on experience in the Mohs surgical process. You’ll be responsible for processing frozen skin specimens, ensuring that slides are mounted with precision and care for microscopic examination by dermatologic surgeons.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and mount tissue samples on slides for accurate microscopic analysis.
- Learn and assist in various steps of the Mohs surgery tissue processing procedure.
- Work closely with dermatologic surgeons and medical staff to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Adhere to quality standards and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.
- Maintain accountability for patient safety and successful surgical outcomes.
- Travel to assigned locations primarily within Los Angeles for scheduled procedures. This position requires occasional travel to neighboring counties such as Orange County and Santa Barbara.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or 2 years of science coursework.
- Previous laboratory or healthcare experience preferred.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and high-stakes environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ownership and operation of a personal vehicle (required for travel).
- Must be willing to travel 50% of the time to various locations (travel reimbursement provided).
- Professional demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively with doctors, staff, and patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a Mohs technician.
- Proficient problem-solving skills.
- Previous exposure to a clinical laboratory environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting Pay: $23.00 per hour, with opportunities for advancement based on experience.
