Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing basic repairs and routine maintenance of the hotel tower including the front desk and lobby areas, convention and meeting spaces and the pool and spa.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
- Responsible for maintaining the general condition of the Hotel and associated areas with regard to basic repairs in Carpentry, Plumbing, (i.e. drain clearing) and Painting work
- Performs general maintenance to guestrooms, completing maintenance work orders on a timely basis
- Participates and schedules work in accordance with preventive maintenance programs, coordinating with Housekeeping, Front Desk and Engineering management
- Assists Electrician, Carpenter, Plumber, HVAC and Painters as needed and directed to ensure tasks are complete and rooms can be placed back on the market
- Works on projects as directed by Hotel Engineering Supervisor and Manager to rehab guest rooms and common places throughout all areas of Hotel and convention spaces
- Maintains the cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Two years of experience in general maintenance
- Basic knowledge of the safe and effective use of all types of power tools utilized in the general maintenance field
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions and specifications such as blueprints, manuals, sketches and work orders
- Measures accurately and calculates dimensions
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance used in this field
- All current and future training requirements as prescribed by Mohegan Tribal Safety department and the Mohegan Environmental Protection department deemed necessary for this trade area
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach and climb a ladder
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear a breathing mask
- Requires frequent use of elevators and stairways to gain efficient access to various levels of the property
- Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
