Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation of flooring systems.
• Prepare surfaces by removing old flooring, cleaning subfloors, and ensuring proper leveling for new installations.
• Install various types of flooring including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy coatings, carpet, and laminate with precision and attention to detail.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, and secure flooring materials.
• Perform floor refinishing tasks such as sanding, buffing, sealing, and water damage restoration to restore floors to their original condition.
• Ensure all building material installation complies with safety standards and building codes while maintaining a clean work environment.
• Collaborate with team members on remodeling projects or building renovations to deliver high-quality results on time.

Requirements

• Proven experience in flooring installation or related construction roles with a strong understanding of construction estimating and project planning.
• Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, drills, scrapers, caulking guns, and drywall tools; familiarity with power tools is essential.
• Knowledge of various flooring materials including hardwoods, vinyls, tiles, epoxy coatings, carpets, and related installation techniques.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans accurately.
• Experience with floor care procedures like buffing, refinishing, water damage restoration, and surface preparation.
• Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy materials safely while adhering to building installation safety compliance standards.
• Construction site experience with a focus on safety protocols; familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics is highly desirable.
• Additional skills such as cabinetry installation, drywall finishing, remodeling experience or handyman skills are considered advantageous.
