Core Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for Cardiothoracic ICU and Floor patients
- First assist in CT surgery, Perform EVH using Hemopro system.
- Perform bedside procedures including thoracentesis, central/arterial line placement, chest tube insertion/removal, etc.
- 24/7 in house coverage of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery utilizing 24 hour shifts
- Perform comprehensive history and physical exams
- Manage inpatient care, including daily rounds, care coordination, and discharge planning
- Participate in consults, emergent assessments, and postoperative follow-up
- Provide patient and family education throughout the care continuum
- Collaborate closely with attending surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivist, and nursing staff
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible to practice in the state of New York
- 3-5 years of Cardiac experience.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience required in Endoscopic Vein and Artery Harvesting for the full scope opportunity.
- Be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA certification
REQUIRED:
- Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
- Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.
- Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
