Description
Rate of Pay: $22.50 per hour.
Basic Function: Performs the day-to-day operations for the Section 8 Certificate and Voucher Program, Lead Rental Registry and Weatherization Assistance Program. Assist low-income households with housing programs to help them save money, alleviate poverty, achieve self-sufficiency and/or improve living conditions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Adhere to government regulations as enacted by HUD, EPA and DOE. Complete all paperwork, testing and data input correctly, neatly and on time. Prepares calculations for computer input. Maintains and updates all computerized program statistical reports, computerized forms, and correspondence. Incorporate a Trauma Informed Care approach to program delivery. Inspects and evaluates housing unit to ensure existing conditions conform to the NSPIRE Inspections per HUD guidelines. Perform Lead Risk Assessments in accordance with EPA guidelines. Maintain safe workplace and practices. Work with Weatherization staff on job sites to install energy efficiency measures in homes. Track and maintain tools, materials, parts, inventory, etc. according to Agency policies. Demonstrate commitment to mission, values and policies in the performance of daily duties. Assist with developing strategies to integrate all services of MVCAA. Be adaptable to change and Agency growth and perform other duties requested by management.
Qualifications: Possess a High School Diploma. 2- 3 years in construction industry preferred. Able to achieve HUD Inspector and EPA Certification as a Lead Assessor within 3 months of employment. Attend trainings in regard to Weatherization Program. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, the general public and low-income families from diverse backgrounds. Willing to travel to trainings out of town. Understanding of low-income, poverty and diversity-related issues and the Agency’s commitment to the continuum care and service integration. Possess a Valid NYS Driver’s License. Reliable transportation to and from MVCAA agency offices, and Home Inspections. Must be physically able to perform the duties of the job.
