Special Education Paraprofessional for Middle & High School
2026-2027 School Year
Position Overview: Mohawk Trail Regional School is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Special Education Paraprofessional to support our middle and high school students. In this role, you will work with students on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) across a diverse range of educational settings, including general education, vocational programs, and therapeutic classrooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Academic Support: Assist students with their schoolwork, both inside and outside of the classroom
- EP Implementation: Help implement accommodations, modifications, and goals outlined in each student's IEP.
- Behavioral & Emotional Support: Provide a stabilizing, supportive presence in therapeutic classrooms, using positive behavior intervention strategies.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to track student progress.
- Independence Building: Help students develop self-advocacy, social, and functional life skills.
Prior experience working as a paraprofessional or with students with special education needs is strongly preferred.
Compensation:
- Hourly rate of pay in accordance with SY26/27 Step and Column of Unit B salary schedule. $18.21 to 33.38
