Mohawk Traffic Services is looking for highly dependable, safety-conscious individuals to join our team as Traffic Control Flaggers. This is an entry-level position—no prior experience in flagging or construction is required! We provide all the paid training and certification you need to succeed.
About the Role
As a Flagger, you are the face of safety on our job sites. You are responsible for ensuring the public, pedestrians, and construction crews are safe by expertly managing the flow of traffic around road construction, utility work, and other temporary work zones.
Flagger Duties & Responsibilities:
Direct and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic safely through or around work zones using the STOP/SLOW paddle and hand signals.
Maintain a clear focus and high level of alertness at all times.
Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, other flaggers (via two-way radio), contractors, and the public.
Assist in setting up and taking down temporary traffic control equipment (signs, cones, barricades, etc.) according to established safety plans.
Adhere strictly to all safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
Required Qualifications:
No Experience Required! We provide all necessary flagger certification training.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Must have reliable transportation to get to and from various job sites daily (sites may change).
Ability to stand for extended periods (8-12 hours) and work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (traffic control devices).
Strong commitment to safety and excellent verbal communication skills.
