Process Technician

We are seeking a motivated Process Technician to join our growing team. The Process Technician will work closely with Process Engineers, Controls Engineers, Process Installation and Fabrication teams, vendors, and customers. In this role, you will provide crucial support in the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes in food and dairy plants across the country. You will utilize your technical skills to assist in the implementation and maintenance of custom dairy processing solutions.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Work with the project team to develop and implement customer-driven manufacturing process improvements
• Analyze and optimize existing dairy processing systems to increase efficiency, yield, and product quality
• Collaborate with all groups in our team, including controls/automation, mechanical, fabrication and installation
• Assist in the specification and management of the bill of materials for our systems
• Utilize AutoCAD Plant 3D under guidance to help create and modify 2D process and instrumentation diagrams as well as 3D models
• Work with customers to understand the solutions being provided to them, under the direction of senior team members
• Work closely with vendors to help specify and order the components for our systems
• Assist senior engineers in the execution and installation of systems of all types and sizes
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in dairy process engineering
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards (3-A, FDA, PMO, ANSI, ASME)
• Operate forklifts, trucks, and trailers
• Must satisfactorily comply with alcohol and controlled substance company policies
• Travel 30% of the time
• o Within the continental United States (CONUS) majority of the time and rarely outside of the CONUS
• Typically for 9 days at a time, but could be shorter or longer based on project need
• Driving a vehicle to customer and/or Mohawk Technology locations
• Flying to customer locations
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, standing, going up and down stairs, sitting, kneeling, crouching, bending for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and heavier weights on an infrequent basis
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Working in varying temperatures while on-site
• Wearing PPE complying with the customer's and Mohawk Technology's safety standards, including safety-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, hair nets, and smocks
• Moving around facilities on-site on a frequent basis, which can be very large with multiple floors and rooms

Working Hours:

• Typical office hours:
• 8 am – 5 pm
• Occasional nights and weekends
• On-site hours:
• Hours may vary, but are typically 12
• Occasional nights and weekends

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Experience working in a sanitary manufacturing environment
• Basic familiarity with AutoCAD or equivalent for viewing/modifying process schematics
• Ability to read/understand blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Basic understanding of fluid flow and piping systems
• Some experience with 3D modeling/piping concepts
• Familiarity with 2D Process and Instrument Drawings
• Basic knowledge of stainless-steel equipment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft products
• Knowledge of Food/Dairy Industry

Negotiable based on experience
