What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dialysis Biomedical Technician position at Mohan Dialysis Center of Covina, Inc.?
The Biomedical Technician is responsible for overseeing the overall operational condition, maintenance and repair of all water treatment equipment, all medical equipment and mechanical/electrical systems to ensure patient safety and the safety of all staff operating such equipment for their assigned clinic(s).

Duties:
1. Demonstrates effective use of supplies and staff labor hours
2. Assist with purchasing as needed; place orders, perform weekly and month end inventory counts
3. Be familiar with the overall procedures used in inventory control and assist in the documentation and control of excess inventory
4. Perform duties as assigned to meet the patient care and/or operational needs of the facility
5. Troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment as recommended by the manufacturer
6. Repair, calibrate, test, clean and disinfect dialysis machines, water distribution loop and RO’s according to protocol
7. Perform water quality checks to include but not limited to; free chlorine, total chlorine, and water hardness testing
8. Perform safety checks and test on all pre-treatment water equipment including but not limited to carbon tanks, water softeners, RO units, UV lamps and ultra filters
9. Collect samples of RO water and dialysate for microbiology testing according to protocol
10. Collect water samples for AAMI analysis testing according to protocol
11. Disinfection of central bicarbonate systems and mixing tank according to protocol
12. Disinfection of RO, distribution system, and hemodialysis machines according to protocol
13. Perform duties at all times within limitations established by and in accordance with company policy and procedures, applicable state and federal laws and regulations
14. Assist with program’s target goals for patient outcomes in accordance with quality patient care and company goals
15. Attend and participate in monthly Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings
16. Use appropriate safety measures including personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary
17. Be familiar with emergency equipment and all emergency operational measures
18. Participate in staff meetings as required. Attend in-services and continuing education sessions in compliance with company policy and procedure
19. Assist with staff training as requested
20. Participate in team concepts and promote a team effort, perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
21. All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Confirmation of the ability to distinguish all primary colors
- Previous dialysis, hospital, or medical experience desired
- Valid state issued driver’s license and good driving record.
Pay: From $33.00 per hour
