The Maintenance Supervisor – Mechanical will lead and oversee mechanical maintenance activities for plant equipment during assigned shifts. This role is responsible for supervising millwrights, ensuring safe and efficient maintenance execution, troubleshooting mechanical equipment issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to manage maintenance operations in compliance with OSHA, company policies, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership & Execution
- Lead and supervise millwrights during the shift; act as the primary point of contact for all mechanical maintenance activities.
- Plan, assign, and oversee routine inspections, preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and shutdown tasks.
- Ensure high-quality maintenance work and adherence to safety, housekeeping, and operational standards.
- Coordinate with the production supervisor to maintain optimal condition of pipe manufacturing and plant equipment.
- Report maintenance progress, breakdown analysis, and job status to the head of mechanical maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment, including mechanical machinery, HVAC systems, doors, rooftop fans, and building facilities.
- Identify critical spare parts and communicate requirements to planners and maintenance heads.
- Ensure availability of machine drawings, spare parts, tools, and PPE on the shop floor.
- Implement SAP for maintenance documentation and reporting.
- Support equipment upgrade projects aimed at de-bottlenecking and improving process efficiency.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, lead safety discussions, and reinforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) compliance.
- Maintain accurate logbook entries for equipment observations, abnormalities, and corrective actions.
- Implement OSHA standards to promote zero-injury culture.
- Prepare and coordinate documentation related to maintenance plans, specifications, proposals, and contracts.
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 4–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems and basic MS Office tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in high-pressure, fast-paced production environments.
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards and mechanical maintenance best practices.
- Full-time onsite role at a manufacturing facility in Little Rock, Arkansas.
