Job Summary

We are seeking a Commercial Lines Manager to lead and manage our commercial insurance department, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations and President. This role requires a strong leader with experience in commercial insurance who can oversee a team handling small to middle-market commercial accounts. The ideal candidate must be able to manage both in-office and remote employees, ensuring a high level of client service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a team’s book of business for small to middle-market commercial accounts.
• Assign new accounts to team members based on industry, renewal dates, and workload.
• Conduct department meetings, one-on-one check-ins, and annual employee reviews.
• Utilize Applied EPIC for reporting, servicing, downloads, and processing tasks.
• Manage carrier relationships, login credentials, and contact information.
• Distribute relevant emails and updates regarding carrier training opportunities.
• Ensure timely and accurate service delivery to clients within 24 hours of requests.
• Hold team members accountable for policy renewal processes.
• Provide training and continuous education on property and casualty markets.
• Oversee the creation of account proposals, coverage summaries, and presentations.
• Serve as the primary liaison between producers, sales agents, clients, and carrier partners.
• Track and set department goals, metrics, and performance benchmarks.
• Work with VP Operations/Office Manager on team scheduling and PTO management.

Must-Have Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry.
• Experience managing both in-office and remote employees.
• Active Ohio Property & Casualty Insurance License required.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 5 years of commercial insurance experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Applied EPIC or other agency management systems.
