Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of a Set-Up Technician I, including mold and equipment setup.
- Execute efficient mold changeovers and machine startups to optimize production output.
- Monitor part quality and complete First Article Inspection forms accurately.
- Manage material handling systems and coordinate silo changes.
- Identify and resolve process-related issues in thermoforming and extrusion operations.
- Monitor and reduce scrap rates to achieve departmental KPIs.
- Coordinate priorities with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
- Maintain accurate production data entry within AS400 and Mattec systems.
- Support packing, shrink wrapping, and assembly activities when needed.
- Maintain strong communication with peers and supervisors on job status.
- Uphold housekeeping, cleanliness, and safety standards in the work area.
- Train other employees on job functions and assist in skill development.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE as required.
- Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and teamwork in all responsibilities.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in plastic injection molding or thermoforming setups.
- Proven experience in accurate and efficient mold setups and start-ups to sustain optimal machine utilization.
- High-level machine operation experience in a manufacturing or plastics environment.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read and follow documented run parameters for molds and materials.
- Basic troubleshooting skills and ability to maintain process consistency.
- Participation in packaging, shrink-wrapping, and assembly-related activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent reliability and attendance record.
- One or more years of direct experience in thermoforming or extrusion setup within plastics manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of thermoforming molds, tooling, and temperature control systems.
- Familiarity with plastics such as ABS, PET, PP, HDPE, and understanding of processing characteristics.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality systems.
- Experience with Mattec, AS400, or similar production tracking tools.
- Proficiency in basic computer tools (Excel, email, documentation software).
- Shift: 3rd Shift | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Monday – Friday
- Interview Process: 1 On-Site Round (Mandatory)
