Summary
Job Summary:
This role will deliver highly specialized, advanced technical care to patients undergoing advanced Endoscopy procedures in accordance with national SGNA standards, established hospital standards, and unit policies and procedures. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Senior (SR) GI Associate acts as a first assistant to the physicians, handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the procedure, anticipates the needs of the physician and team, and has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care. The SR GI Associate is also responsible for assisting with support services in the delivery of care to Endoscopy patients, including transportation, independent inventory management, patient prep, environmental cleanliness, and direct assistance to Endoscopy RN’s, physicians, patients, visitors, and staff. This role includes assignments in other ancillary/technical roles within Perioperative Services as needed. Additional duties include maintaining GI Associate schedules and on call rotations, participation in orientation plan for new staff members, collaboration with supervisors on daily operational workflows.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
Basic Life Support (BLS)
3 years of experience as an Endoscopy Tech or similar specialized function
