Summary
Strategic Analytics and Contracts Senior Analyst
Position Highlights:
- The Strategic Analytics and Contracts Senior Analyst is responsible for providing innovative and sophisticated analysis in support of Moffitt's payer strategies initiatives. This position will perform contract management functions including systems implementation of managed care contract rates including the tracking of rate changes, loading, testing and evaluation of assigned contracts.
- The Strategic Analytics & Contracts Senior Analyst will provide financial and strategic modeling, including alternative payment models (APMs). Additionally, this role will provide Leadership with periodic analysis and reports while maintaining quality and accuracy levels.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with EPIC systems is preferred and considered a strong plus for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Administration & Management
- Perform contract administration by applying an advanced understanding of reimbursement methodologies and their impact on internal systems and other departments
- Responsible for loading new contracts, maintaining contracts, and updating contracts in EHR.
- Maintains contract management module functionality in the current decision support systems, including but not limited to PMMC and Soarian.
- Manages and completes multiple contract updates according to department policies and as specified by Leadership
- Financial & Strategic Modeling, Negotiation Support
- Responsible for providing reimbursement contract models that will be utilized during the contract negotiation process.
- Provide comparisons "actual to expected" reimbursement, and detail reimbursement by service line
- Review contract payer terms, fee schedules, and percent of charge
- Support a collaborative team by developing alternative payment models (APMs) and reporting on Moffitt's current and future APMs.
- Budgeting and forecasting

- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Evaluates actual contract performance against expected; analyzes data to distinguish patterns and recognize trends in contract performance.
- Provide financial analysis to a team which develops and implements Moffitt's clinical pathways, including identifying trends and drivers of costs to care for patients.
- Responsible for providing monthly reporting packages and adhoc reporting requests.
- Formulate business insights by extracting data from large datasets, querying data cubes and building dashboards, databases using BI suites (Power BI), Tableau
- Create presentations to share findings and offering recommendations to multiple levels of leadership
- Systems Administration
- In partnership with IT:
- Perform test updates and upgrades to the decision support system software
- Support application upgrades and other system function evaluations including testing and go live support related to the contract management functionality

- Identify, recommend and implement process and control enhancements

Credentials and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree – field of study: Economics, Statistics, Information Sciences, Medical Informatics, Computer Science, or healthcare related field
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in oncology financial analysis and/or medical economics, or managed care contract implementations and/or hospital revenue cycle configuration and system support.
- Experience must include the following:
- Managed Care Contract Administration
- Applying both commercial and governmental payer reimbursement methodologies to perform modeling, and analyzing hospital, physician, and transplant contracts.
- Contract negotiation support, creating reimbursement scenarios and risk assessment
- Extracting business insights from large datasets, reporting and presenting to leadership
- Performing Financial and Strategic modeling: Budgeting and forecasting, Cost savings analysis, Gross margin and profitability analysis, alternative payment models (APMs)
- Systems administration of Managed Care and Decision Support systems
- Preferred Experience
- Industry Knowledge
- Oncology hospital/pharmaceutical industry experience is highly preferred
- Familiarity with government pricing regulations and reimbursement functions Regulatory Compliance
- Understanding of programs like PPS Exempt and 340B, and ability to reconcile eligibility data
