Electrical Engineer - Junior Level

Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Electrical Engineer to join our Savannah office. As part of the Electrical Group, the Electrical Engineer supports the planning, design and plan production for general electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include lighting, power, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and different project specifications.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Supports the completion of electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammates
• Supports project managers by providing design calculations, design drawings, and project specifications for the following but not limited to:
• Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
• Lighting systems
• Lightning protection systems
• Grounding systems
• Communications systems
• Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
• Selective coordination and arc flash studies
• Assist with the electrical designs of multidiscipline projects
• Assist with evaluation of project scopes
• Assist in companywide Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; required
• Master’s Degree; preferred
• 2 years of related experience in:
• Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
• Grounding systems
• Lighting systems
• Communications systems
• Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
• Selective coordination and arc flash studies
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit is required
• All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
