Freezer Operator – 1st Shift

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays required
Pay: $20.00–$22.50 per hour, including a $2.00-per-hour freezer differential

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Freezer Operator to receive, inspect, store, rotate, and maintain accurate inventory of frozen food products. This position works primarily inside a freezer that can reach temperatures as low as -20°F and regularly operates a reach truck to move and store products.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of recent freezer warehouse and reach-truck experience, understands FIFO inventory procedures, and can work safely and accurately in a fast-paced food-distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and put away frozen products in assigned storage locations.
• Safely operate a reach truck, forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of products entering and leaving the freezer.
• Work closely with the Inventory Coordinator to support inventory accuracy.
• Rotate products using FIFO procedures.
• Verify that products are securely wrapped, stored, and properly labeled.
• Prepare and label outgoing products for shipment.
• Identify and report missing, damaged, or incorrectly stored products.
• Use handheld devices and RF scanners to complete inventory transactions.
• Dispose of plastic, broken pallets, and other debris to maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist with training new warehouse associates as needed.
• Support other warehouse responsibilities based on operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least one year of experience working in a freezer or cold-storage warehouse.
• At least one year of reach-truck operating experience.
• Ability to work for extended periods in freezer temperatures as low as -20°F.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. and rotating Saturdays.
• Experience using pallet jacks and warehouse equipment.
• Basic inventory knowledge, including FIFO procedures.
• Ability to use RF scanners or similar handheld warehouse devices.
• Ability to read product labels and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current reach-truck or forklift certification.
• Food-distribution or frozen-food warehouse experience.
• Inventory control and cycle-counting experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
