Shift: M-Th, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM (10% shift pay differential)

In this position, you'll operate state-of-the-art coordinate measuring machines to verify that our manufactured components meet the exacting specifications required for life-saving medical devices, critical defense systems, and aerospace innovations.

Key Responsibilities
Precision Measurement Operations
- Operate Zeiss CMM systems to perform dimensional inspections on precision machined components
- Execute measurement routines according to engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and customer requirements
- Perform complex dimensional analysis including position, profile, concentricity, and surface finish verification
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and in-process quality control measurements
- Verify critical dimensions for tight tolerance components ( /- 0.0001" typical)
- Trouble shooting capability for OOS measurements.
- Generate detailed measurement reports and coordinate with engineering team on findings
Quality Control and Documentation
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and GD&T symbols
- Create and modify CMM programs for new parts and measurement requirements
- Maintain accurate measurement records in compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards
- Identify non-conforming parts and initiate corrective action procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through statistical process control (SPC)
- Collaborate with engineering team to resolve dimensional and quality issues
Equipment Maintenance and Calibration
- Perform daily machine checks and routine maintenance on CMM equipment
- Conduct probe calibration and machine accuracy verification
- Maintain measurement tools and fixtures in proper working condition
- Support equipment qualification and validation activities
- Ensure proper environmental controls for measurement accuracy
Process Improvement and Compliance
- Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement activities
- Support CMMC compliance initiatives through proper documentation and procedures
- Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews with engineering team
- Maintain chain of custody documentation for ITAR-controlled materials
- Follow all safety protocols and quality management system requirements
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred
- 2-3 years of CMM operation experience required
- Experience with Zeiss Calypso or similar CMM software preferred
- Background in precision manufacturing environment (aerospace, medical, or defense)
Technical Skills
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
- Experience with CMM programming and measurement routine development
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and measurement uncertainty
- Understanding of coordinate systems, datum references, and measurement principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software
Specialized Knowledge
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and ITAR quality requirements
- Understanding of surface finish measurement and analysis
- Knowledge of measurement best practices for tight tolerance components
- Experience with failure analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience with probe selection and measurement strategy development
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in temperature-controlled environment
- Manual dexterity for handling precision components and measurement tools
- Visual acuity to read fine print on engineering drawings and measurement displays
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
