Key Responsibilities:The Lead Plumber will oversee all plumbing installations within our modular manufacturing facility, ensuring that systems are installed according to building codes, factory production schedules, and quality standards. This role combines hands-on plumbing expertise with opportunities for growth as we grow and expand our modular manufacturing operations.Plumbing InstallationInstall, assemble, and pressure-test water supply, drain/waste/vent (DWV), and fixture systems within modular boxes.Review drawings and confirm correct take-offs with supply chain managerInterpret plumbing drawings, schematics, and specifications specific to modular construction.Coordinate with framing and electrical teams to pre-plan penetrations and routing when applicableInstall air admittance valves (AAVs), branch vents, and verify slope/venting per IRC/IBC requirements.Quality and ComplianceEnsure all plumbing installations meet appropriate codes and factory QA/QC standards.Perform inspections and sign-offs before modules leave the factory floor.Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards, including confined space, PPE, and fall protection protocols.Process ImprovementProvide input on plumbing jigs, fixtures, and layout stations to improve efficiency.Collaborate with engineering to refine plumbing design for modular efficiency (e.g., fixture carriers, manifold systems).Track material usage and help optimize procurement and inventory control.Crew Leadership & OversightAs we build the team, you will be responsible for:Leading and coordinating a plumbing crew (3–6 team members) on the shop floor.Train apprentices and less-experienced plumbers in modular plumbing installation techniques.Assign daily tasks based on production schedules and ensure completion within takt/cycle time targets.QualificationsRequired5 years plumbing experience, including residential or light commercial work; modular or prefab experience highly preferred.Strong knowledge of IRC/IBC, IPC, and state plumbing codes.Ability to read blueprints, isometric drawings, and factory shop drawings.Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role in construction or manufacturing.Skilled in mentoring apprentices and leading a team toward production goals.Preferred: Licensed Journeyman or Master Plumber (state license preferred/required depending on jurisdiction).Physical Requirements:Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbsWork in indoor factory settings with exposure to construction-related noise and materialsWhat We OfferCompetitive Salary: The base salary for this position ranges from $31-$33/hour on experience.
