Technical Lead - Casting

The Technical Lead is a hands-on working lead. This role bridges the gap between frontline execution and departmental supervision, offering strong technical expertise, day-to-day leadership, and task coordination within their assigned area. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the tools, equipment, and processes of their department, and capable of training others, resolving production issues, and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and company procedures.

 

 

·         Candidates must have 5 years or more experience in concrete finishing. 

·         Must be able to operate trowel machines. Must have knowledge of hand float, Hand trowels, edging, Bull floating, fresno floating. 

·         Able to spread concrete, operate straight edge and able to hard finish concrete. 

·         Candidates must be able to lead team members and coordinate finishers into certain areas when needed. 

·         Must be able to lead when supervisor is not present. 

·         Must be knowledgeable in ordering concrete and figuring concrete yardage. 

·         Looking for an individual who works well with others and able to solve issues when needed.

 

Work Experience: 

·         Serve as the primary resource for team members; provide troubleshooting support, guidance, and mentorship.

·         Ensure team adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and productivity goals.

·         Assist in training and onboarding new employees; reinforce skill development across the team.

·         Communication needs to supervisors.

·         Maintain organization, cleanliness, and efficiency of the work area (5S practices encouraged).

·         Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and cross-functional teams regarding workflow, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

·         Identify and escalate equipment issues, process inefficiencies, or personnel concerns to management.

·         Support continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.

·         Proven hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment within the relevant department.

·         Advanced understanding of department-specific tools, materials, and processes.

 

Education: Varies per department

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights.  When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
