Job Overview
We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to support engineering, design, and state approval efforts for modular buildings and shipping container conversion office units. This position will play a key role in expanding into additional states through compliant sealed drawings, technical support, and production-ready manufacturing plans.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving products, and working closely with manufacturing operations. This is primarily an on-site role supporting a production facility, with flexibility based on workload and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and stamp engineering drawings for modular building and shipping container conversion approvals
- Manage state plan submissions, comments, revisions, and approvals
- Produce complete drawing sets including floorplans, elevations, structural details, electrical layouts, HVAC layouts, framing plans, and construction details
- Create fabrication drawings for weldments, steel modifications, framed openings, reinforcement packages, and production assemblies
- Evaluate structural modifications to shipping containers including openings, reinforcements, welding, roof penetrations, and framing changes
- Develop clear shop drawings for production teams including dimensions, stud layouts, wiring locations, materials, weld details, and installation requirements
- Help support the operation to comply with applicable codes and standards including IBC, NEC, IECC, and related requirements
- Perform or support energy compliance documentation such as IECC / COMcheck
- Improve products for cost, quality, manufacturability, durability, and code compliance
- Assist with new product development, standardization, and custom designs
- Develop and manage work instructions, quality standards, visual aids, and compliance documentation
- Support troubleshooting of field, engineering, and manufacturing issues
Required Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain Missouri licensure quickly
- Degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience producing stamped construction drawings and engineering packages
- Strong working knowledge of IBC, NEC, IECC, and related codes
- MEP experience required, including HVAC and electrical systems coordination
- Structural engineering experience related to steel, framing, or building modifications
- Experience with fabrication, welding, construction methods, or manufacturing processes
- Experience creating production/shop/fabrication drawings
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BricsCAD, SolidWorks, or similar
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-state licensure
- Experience with modular construction, prefab, factory-built buildings, or shipping container conversions
- Quality Management System (QMS) experience
- Experience creating and maintaining controlled documents, standards, and revision systems
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment
Schedule / Work Environment
- Primarily on-site role in a manufacturing environment
- Core schedule aligns with plant operations, generally Monday through Thursday beginning at 6:00 AM
- Production may occasionally work Fridays based on workload and business needs
- Position is salary exempt and not eligible for overtime pay
- Flexibility based on workload, projects, and business needs

Starting at $100,000 (dependent on experience)
