Job Summary:
The Warehouse Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment in a modular closet facility. This role ensures the timely and accurate fulfillment of orders, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order Picking:
- Accurately pick products from designated storage areas based on customer orders and packing slips.
- Verify product codes, quantities, and quality before preparing orders for shipment.
- Use barcode scanners, RF devices, and other technology to track inventory and order status.
- Packing and Shipping:
- Pack products securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Label and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards and shipping guidelines.
- Coordinate with the shipping team to ensure orders are dispatched on time.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in receiving and stocking incoming inventory.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or issues to the Warehouse Manager.
- Safety and Cleanliness:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other warehouse staff and departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of picked and packed orders.
- Assist in documenting any damaged or missing inventory items.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order-picking role is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided).
