Position Summary
Modular Closets is seeking an experienced and results-driven Warehouse Manager to lead all warehouse operations at our Kernersville facility. This role is responsible for overseeing various teams and metrics to ensure success (such as inventory management, receiving, shipping, order fulfillment, staffing, safety, and operational performance). The Warehouse Manager will develop and implement processes that improve efficiency, productivity, and accuracy while fostering a positive and accountable team culture.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a proven track record of warehouse management, team development, process improvement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and warehouse organization.
- Lead, develop, and manage warehouse personnel, including supervisors, team leads, and warehouse associates.
- Establish performance expectations, monitor productivity, and hold team members accountable for achieving operational goals.
- Develop staffing plans, schedules, and labor allocation strategies to meet business demands efficiently.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, and cost reduction.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including order accuracy, shipping performance, inventory accuracy, labor productivity, and safety metrics.
- Ensure inventory integrity through cycle counts, audits, reconciliation processes, and effective inventory control practices.
- Partner with Production, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth operational flow and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and enforce warehouse policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain compliance with all company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and warehouse operating procedures.
- Manage warehouse equipment, maintenance schedules, and facility organization.
- Participate in budget planning and cost management initiatives related to warehouse operations.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management efforts for warehouse staff.
- Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve efficiency and service levels.
- Prepare and present operational reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of warehouse leadership experience, including at least 2 years in a management role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, fulfillment processes, and logistics coordination.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience implementing process improvements and managing operational KPIs.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
