Job Summary:
The Booking / Shipping Clerk manages the logistics of outgoing goods, coordinating with carriers to schedule pickups, creating shipping documents (bills of lading) ensuring all shipping documentation is accurate and complete and tracking shipments. Duties include verifying load readiness and ensuring accurate, timely, and safe dispatch of products. This role works closely with warehouse, production, and transportation partners to ensure timely and efficient delivery of customer orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and freight providers
- Communicate with internal teams to ensure orders are ready for shipment on time
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and labels
- Verify order accuracy, quantities, and shipping details prior to dispatch
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal stakeholders or customers as needed
- Resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or issues in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate shipping records and data in company systems
- Support freight rate comparisons and cost-effective carrier selection
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and transportation regulations
- Assist with general shipping office duties and administrative tasks
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse administration.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse administration preferred
- Familiarity with shipping documentation (BOLs, freight scheduling, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Ability to accurately maneuver a forklift in narrow areas.
- Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions (temperature changes, noise).
