Position Overview
As Superintendent - Plumbing, you'll oversee plumbing system installations and rough-ins on commercial projects, leading crews to deliver code-compliant, reliable fixtures, piping, and drainage systems that support efficient building operations. Coordinate with trades, manage site logistics, and ensure quality/safety throughout. Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise installation of plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, drains, and medical gas (if applicable) per plans and codes.
- Manage crew assignments, material deliveries, and daily progress to meet schedule milestones.
- Enforce safety standards, perform job hazard analyses, and lead toolbox talks.
- Coordinate with other trades (HVAC, electrical) for sequencing and conflict avoidance.
- Conduct inspections, testing (pressure/hydrostatic), and punch list resolution.
- Troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with plumbing codes, and document work.
- Mentor plumbers and apprentices on techniques, safety, and best practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Yes – Supervise plumbing crews and subcontractors; oversee daily performance, training, and safety adherence.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Experience: 7 years in commercial plumbing installation, including 3 years supervisory experience.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; plumbing license/certification preferred.
- Physical Demands: Field-based; lift/carry 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, extended standing/bending.
- Work Environment/Safety: Construction sites; exposure to wet conditions, heights, noise; OSHA/PPE compliance essential—safety is top priority.
