Duties
- Develop comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to individual student needs, including technical exercises, repertoire selection, and performance preparation
- Conduct engaging, interactive lessons that promote active learning and musical growth for children, teens, and adults
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a respectful, inclusive environment conducive to learning
- Provide constructive feedback to motivate students and track progress over time
- Incorporate diverse teaching methods
- Prepare student performances to showcase progress and build confidence
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, or other educators to support student development in both individual and group settings
Experience
- Proven experience teaching saxophone or wind instruments at various levels, including classroom experience or private tutoring
- Strong background in curriculum development tailored for different age groups and skill levels
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom or lesson environments effectively with behavior management skills
- Experience working with children, early childhood education, preschool experience or working with students with special educational needs is highly desirable
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and techniques for engaging young learners in music education
- Familiarity with lesson planning that integrates diverse arts such as ballet, dancing, theater, or culinary arts can enhance teaching versatility
- Prior experience in classroom management and working with students of varying abilities ensures a positive learning atmosphere
