Classification: Non-Exempt / Hourly

Position Summary:
Servers at Moderna Bar & Pizzeria provide an exceptional dining experience through warm hospitality, menu knowledge, and attention to detail. The server is responsible for taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and ensuring guests leave with a lasting positive impression of Moderna’s upscale Italian dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests promptly and courteously, establishing a welcoming atmosphere.
• Present menus and answer questions about food, beverages, and daily specials.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Deliver food and beverages in a timely, professional manner.
• Ensure tables are properly maintained throughout service — clearing, resetting, and pre-bussing as needed.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly address any issues or concerns.
• Process guest payments accurately and handle cash or credit transactions responsibly.
• Uphold Moderna’s standards for cleanliness, presentation, and guest care.
• Maintain knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and allergens.
• Follow all company safety, sanitation, and alcohol service procedures.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a server in an upscale or full-service restaurant preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong teamwork ethic.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Must be TABC certified.
• Must have Food Handler certification.

Appearance & Conduct:

• Uniform must be clean, pressed, and properly fitted.
• Hair must be meat and pulled back if long.
• No visible rips or stains in clothing; non slip shoes required.
• Cell phone use during working hours is prohibited except for emergencies.
• Maintain a professional, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor at all times.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly and efficiently.

Work Environment:

Servers at Moderna work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on delivering refined Italian dining experiences. Evening and weekend availability is required.
