Front of House Host

Position Overview:

The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for all guests entering Moderna Bar & Pizzeria. This position sets the tone for the guest experience by providing a warm, friendly, and genuine welcome. The Host ensures an efficient flow of seating, maintains the reservation system, and supports a positive dining experience through professionalism and attentiveness.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Greet all guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.

·         Manage reservations and waitlists using the designated system.

·         Maintain an organized seating chart to balance server sections.

·         Escort guests to tables and present menus with enthusiasm.

·         Communicate guest counts, seating status, and special requests to the service team.

·         Answer incoming calls, take to-go orders if required, and provide accurate information about Moderna.

·         Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and menus.

·         Monitor guest satisfaction and communicate any concerns to management immediately.

·         Assist servers and managers with guest needs as required.

·         Uphold Moderna’s standards of hospitality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

·         Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required.

·         Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

·         Professional appearance and a friendly, outgoing demeanor.

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

·         Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

·         Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

·         Must have valid Food Handlers Certification.

Appearance & Conduct:

·         Attire must be clean, pressed, and properly fitted.

·         Hair must be nest and pulled back if below the collar. 

·         No visible rips or stains in clothing.

·         Shoes must be non-slip and no high heels. No open toed shoes. Dress flats are acceptable.

·         Cell phone use during working hours is prohibited except for emergencies.

·         Maintain a professional, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor at all times.

Physical Requirements:

·         Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly for long periods.

·         Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally.

·         Must be able to bend, reach, and move quickly and efficiently.

·         Ability to work in a high-energy, team-oriented environment.
