Bakery Assistant
Position Summary
The Bakery Assistant supports the pastry and bakery team in producing high-quality, chef-driven, Italian-inspired baked goods with consistency and attention to detail. This role assists in daily production, preparation, and organization while working collaboratively within an open kitchen environment. The Bakery Assistant upholds culinary standards, sanitation practices, and the overall vision of the Chef and leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of doughs, batters, creams, fillings, and baked goods according to established recipes and techniques
Support daily baking and production schedules to ensure product freshness and consistency
Portion, shape, proof, bake, finish, and package bakery items as directed
Prepare mise en place for the pastry and bakery team, including scaling ingredients and organizing tools
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery station, equipment, and storage areas
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen-handling procedures
Properly store ingredients and finished products to maintain quality and freshness
Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen team members in a fast-paced, professional environment
Assist with inventory rotation, labeling, and basic stock organization
Support opening and closing duties of the bakery area as assigned
Demonstrate a willingness to learn traditional and modern baking techniques under chef guidance
