Position Summary
The Retirement Plan Advisor – Team Lead serves as a senior member of the Retirement Plan Services team, responsible for leading client relationships while managing, coaching, and developing a team of retirement plan advisors. This role blends deep retirement plan expertise with people leadership to ensure strong client outcomes, regulatory excellence, and consistent team performance.
Key Responsibilities
Retirement Plan Advisory & Client Leadership
- Lead relationships with retirement plan sponsors and committees, providing fiduciary, plan design, and investment guidance
- Conduct and oversee plan review meetings, including fiduciary training, legislative updates, plan analytics, and investment reviews
- Support improvement of plan outcomes such as participation rates, deferrals, and diversification
- Collaborate with internal and external partners on plan administration, compliance, and service delivery
- Participate in investment strategy discussions and committee work as applicable
People Management & Team Leadership
- Directly manage, coach, and develop Retirement Plan Advisors and supporting team members
- Train and mentor advisors to ensure consistent service quality, technical proficiency, and client experience
- Hold advisors accountable to performance, service, and compliance standards
- Support onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of new team members
- Promote engagement, collaboration, and a strong team culture within Retirement Plan Services
Business & Operational Leadership
- Partner with leadership on growth initiatives and enhancements to the retirement plan client experience
- Collaborate across compliance, operations, and wealth management teams
- May support local office or functional leadership responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- CFP® designation required
- 10–15 years of experience in retirement plan services, financial planning, or investment management
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing advisory teams
- Strong knowledge of retirement plan administration, fiduciary responsibilities, and regulatory requirements
- Proven leadership, coaching, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience leading advisors within a Retirement Plan Services or institutional advisory environment
- Participation in investment or retirement plan committees
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with compliance and operations teams
