Job Title: Paraplanner (Financial Planning Team – Tax Focused)

Job Overview:
The Paraplanner (Tax Focused) is responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining comprehensive financial plans with a strong emphasis on tax-efficient planning strategies. This role ensures the delivery of technically accurate, proactive, and tax-aware financial planning recommendations by analyzing tax returns, modeling multi-year scenarios, and collaborating closely with financial advisors. The ideal candidate will strengthen the firm’s planning capabilities by serving as a technical tax resource and supporting the delivery of high-quality client planning solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze individual client tax returns (Form 1040) to identify tax planning opportunities
Model multi-year tax projections and financial planning scenarios using planning software
Utilize Holistiplan or equivalent tax analysis tools to generate actionable planning insights
Assist financial advisors in developing comprehensive financial plans, including retirement, investment, tax, estate, and risk management strategies
Design tax-efficient withdrawal strategies, Roth conversion analyses, and income distribution plans
Prepare detailed financial planning reports and client deliverables with a high level of technical accuracy
Participate in client meetings to explain tax projections and planning recommendations when appropriate
Maintain accurate documentation within CRM and financial planning software systems
Document and monitor planning assumptions (inflation, tax brackets, indexing, etc.) to ensure consistency across client plans
Serve as an internal tax-planning resource to advisors and team members
Support onboarding of partner firms by helping explain the firm’s tax-integrated planning approach and assisting advisors during transition periods (if applicable)
Ensure timely delivery of financial plans, follow-ups, and client communications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial planning, paraplanning, or tax preparation
Strong experience reviewing and interpreting individual tax returns (Form 1040 required)
Demonstrated experience identifying and modeling tax planning strategies (Roth conversions, capital gains management, charitable giving strategies, etc.)
CFP® and/or CPA designation preferred (or actively pursuing)
Experience with Holistiplan or equivalent tax planning software strongly preferred
Proficiency in financial planning software (RightCapital, eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, NaviPlan, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to detail and organizational effectiveness

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
