Duties
- Measure, cut, and fabricate granite countertops according to project specifications using hand tools, power tools, and blueprint schematics.
- Install countertops securely on various surfaces, ensuring proper alignment, leveling, and finishing.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute installation plans.
- Utilize construction management techniques to coordinate with team members and ensure timely project completion.
- Perform surface preparation tasks such as caulking, trimming, and sealing to achieve a polished final appearance.
- Operate heavy equipment when necessary for material handling or site preparation.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes, including plumbing, electrical, masonry, and roofing considerations related to countertop installation.
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly care for tools and equipment used during installation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site work, fabrication, or installation of countertops or similar surfaces.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and basic blueprint reading.
- Skills in related trades such as carpentry (trim carpentry, framing), masonry (concrete forming, finishing), plumbing, electrical work, or roofing is a plus but not required.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials (50-100lbs) safely and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Relevant certifications or training in construction safety are preferred but not required.
