Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is hiring a Senior Test and Evaluation Engineer in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid position (one day a week on-site). Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens with a minimum Secret security clearance with ability to acquire CBP BI.

- Serve as an unmanned systems Senior Test and Evaluation (T&E) Engineer and support mission-critical objectives for the U.S. Border Patrol’s Program Management Office Directorate (PMOD).
- Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Program Managers, and Subject Matter Experts.
- Plan and execute technology demonstrations, system development testing, operational testing, operational assessment, and other Test and Evaluation (T&E) related activities.
- Support the data collection, and reporting of technology demonstrations, system acceptance tests, and other technology and/or systems evaluation and assessment efforts.
- Support the development of engineering plans and artifacts such as: Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP); Testing and Evaluation Gate Reviews (TEGR); Test case / scenario designs; Systems Engineering Plans (SEP); Functional Requirements Documents (FRD); Software Requirements Specifications (SRS); and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
- Participate in or lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Participate in program-level review boards, including engineering, configuration, risk, and test review boards.
- Coordinate and track project activities and provide status reports and recommendations to the customer.
- Train and manage test teams in test and evaluation activities and assist in the development of policies and procedures designed to streamline test and evaluation activities
- 10-15 years of relevant experience with unmanned systems testing.
- Experience in developing, executing T&E strategy and plans in support of large, complex programs.
- Knowledge of DHS or DoD acquisition life cycle framework and systems engineering life cycle framework.
- Knowledge of a broad spectrum of technical fields and engineering disciplines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and leadership skills.
- Flexible in adapting to change, and a strong desire to learn and acquire new skills.
- Must be self-motivated, and proactive who can perform well in a collaborative team environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
- Must have at least a Secret security clearance, with the ability to acquire CBP BI.
- An active U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) BI is highly preferred.
- This is hybrid position with one day/week on-site at USBP HQ at the Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time to testing sites throughout CONUS.
