DCO-S Sustainment External Cyber Training Lead
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Defensive Cyber Operations – Space (DCO-S) Sustainment External Cyber Training Lead in support of United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) and Combat Forces Command (CFC) Defensive Cyber Operations.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
This role focuses on leading the External Cyber Training Team in support of the USSF DCO-S Sustainment and Program Office. The External DCO-S Cyber Training Lead manages day-to-day execution of specialized technical and operational training for cyber operators, analysts, maintainers, and units on mission systems including Manticore, Kraken, and related tool suites. Has an in-depth understanding of cyber training requirements under the Software Acquisition Pathway (DODI 5000.87) and sufficient expertise to deliver, coordinate, and sustain high-quality training. Leads a team of external trainers, coordinates vendor-provided courses, develops and refines curriculum synchronized with software releases, implements a sustainable Train-the-Trainer (T3) model, and supports both individual and collective training events using on-site, virtual, or hybrid methods. Works closely with the Chief of Training, USSF Military Training NCO, Capability ART, Fielding & Sustainment ART, and Documentation teams to ensure training materials meet Definition of Done criteria and are included in CM Release checklists. This position may require privileged access and DoD 8570/8140 restrictions will apply.

Education/Certification Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Education/Training, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8 years of relevant experience in cyber training, technical instruction, curriculum development, or training program management, with at least 3–5 years focused on defensive cyber operations, space systems, or DoD mission systems training.
- In lieu of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Certs preferred (at least one of the following): Certified Technical Trainer (CTT ), CompTIA CTT , CISSP, Security , CySA , or equivalent instructional/cyber certifications.
- DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification preferred.
- Proven experience leading training teams and delivering technical cyber training to operators, analysts, and maintainers.
- Hands-on knowledge of DCO-S or similar defensive cyber systems, tools, and mission environments (Manticore, Kraken, or equivalent preferred).
- Strong experience coordinating vendor-provided training, logistics, and quality oversight.
- Demonstrated success designing and executing Train-the-Trainer (T3) programs.
- Ability to develop and iteratively update training materials, job aids, checklists, and technical manuals synchronized with software releases.
- Experience supporting Software Acquisition Pathway or agile/DevSecOps training requirements.
- Excellent planning, prioritization, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Familiarity with metrics, training effectiveness evaluation, and continuous improvement processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for curriculum development, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with military (Guardian) and contractor personnel.
- Prior experience supporting USSF, DoD, or space/cyber programs is highly desirable.
- Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. SAP eligibility is highly desired.
