This role supports mission integration, operational architecture development, capability fielding, and modernization initiatives aligned with Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) concepts and evolving DoD digital ecosystem strategies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the operational voice of the warfighter across C2 modernization programs.
- Translate operational concepts, TTPs, and mission workflows into system requirements, user stories, and integration priorities.
- Advise program leadership on mission impacts, operational risk, and capability gaps.
- Support development and refinement of CONOPS, operational architectures, and mission threads.
- Participate in mission engineering efforts, digital twin environments, modeling & simulation activities, and operational assessments.
- Lead or support operational test events, exercises, and experimentation campaigns.
- Facilitate collaboration between operators, acquisition professionals, systems engineers, and software development teams.
- Provide subject matter expertise for digital transformation initiatives, including cloud-enabled C2, data integration, edge processing, and AI/ML-enabled decision support.
- Support briefings to senior DoD stakeholders and flag-level leadership.
- Contribute to strategic planning, roadmapping, and capability transition efforts.
- 15 years of operational experience in Air Force, Space Force, Joint, or Combatant Command environments.
- Direct experience in Command & Control (C2), battle management, mission planning, or operational integration roles.
- Experience supporting operational exercises, wargames, or real-world contingency operations.
- Demonstrated ability to translate operational needs into technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of joint operations and multi-domain integration.
- Experience supporting next-generation mission systems initiatives.
- Familiarity with digital engineering, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), or mission thread analysis.
- Experience working within DoD acquisition or program office environments.
- Exposure to cloud-enabled architectures, DevSecOps, or AI/ML-enabled decision support tools.
- Graduate degree in Systems Engineering, Operations Research, National Security, or related field.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with 15 years’ related experience; Master’s degree preferred.
- Must have an Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility. Due to clearance requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
